We have a fantastic opportunity for both enthusiastic and energetic Female and Male applicants to join our outstanding team of support workers here at Windward Day Services Limited. Ideally we are looking for a someone for Thrive Day Service in Chandlers Ford.
Windward Day Services Limited are proud to be a forward-thinking organisation that strives for excellence, providing day opportunities to people with autism and learning disabilities since 2002.
As a Support Worker with us you will have a unique opportunity to our service users to fulfil their potential using a person-centred approach. We access the community for sessions such as Multi-Sports, Gym, Football, Swimming, Tennis, Golf, Trampolining, Cycling, Ringo’s and Bowling; as well as offering a range of in-house activities such as DIY, Gardening, Woodwork, Computers, Cooking, Life-skills, Arts and Crafts, Yoga, Dance, Drama, Dance, Sing-sign and much much more.
We offer training, competitive rates of pay, a strong, supportive team, pension scheme, and daytime work to the right candidate; there is also potential for Saturdays (Project Saturday) and evening work (Social Evenings). There are also opportunities to progress should you have a passion or interest in a particular area.
Your main duties will be to offer practical and emotional support to adults in a group, or on a 1:1 basis; and we are especially keen to talk to candidates who have a passion for enablement and inclusion of people who have complex needs. You will offer practical sessions in everyday tasks, as well as supporting people to access their local community. You must have a commitment to working in a person-centred way as some service users have particularly complex needs and may require intimate care. The ability to use your own initiative, work as part of a team is very desirable, as is experience on this line of work. However, if you’re a kind, caring hardworking person with excellent communication skills, then please feel free to get in contact.
We require our staff to hold a full driving license plus own vehicle (as on occasion you will have to use your own vehicle but the majority of the time you will be using our own fleet of vehicles).
For the full Job Description, Person Specification, Questionnaire and Application Form please contact Chris Gibbs (HR Manager) via email:
or phone: 023 80860005
Should you be successful we will confirm your employment subject to a clear DBS check and satisfactory references.
CLOSING DATE FOR APPLICATIONS: 30th September 2019
