Many years ago I left my career as a social worker and set up Windward. I live just over the border in Dorset with my 5 children, husband and too many animals! It's a privilege to be part of providing this service to the wonderful people here.

Coordinator Manager

Hi, I'm Sally. I've been with Windward quite a while now and still absolutely love my job. My role at Windward is to make sure we have the best staff for the people who access our service, and that our clients get the best quality support they need to enable them to flourish. I manage the day to day rota for our 4 locations, ensuring that staff are matched to clients. I feel very fortunate to be working with such an excellent staff team who are enthusiastic, kind, thoughtful and caring in all that they do.

If you give us a ring it will probably be me answering as I manage the office for Windward, Spiral Blue and Thrive. I started as a support worker and I am still lucky enough to have a job which gives me flexibility to do a bit of both hands on work and office work.

Chris Gibbs
HR Manager/Administrator

Hi, I'm Chris (or Gibbsy to most!!) and I have worked at Windward since 2009. I previously worked at Salterns School in Totton, and many of the guys from there- now come to Windward, Spiral Blue, Thrive and Cheers; it really is great to see how much they have progressed whilst here!! I have recently moved into the office and administration side of things, which include- organising the WW holidays, Staff Training, Website management, as well as all things HR. I still do a couple of days a week of support work too.

I have worked in the learning disability sector for many years as a support worker, qualified teacher and manager. I joined the team back in 2006 and have been part of the expansion and development of our services ever since. My role includes overseeing new projects, sourcing resources and equipment and mentoring new support workers. I love tea, cats, my garden and the mighty Saints (COYR!!)

Hi, my name is Cas, I have worked at Windward for many years and I am the co-ordinator at Thrive. I love my job, and really enjoy new and exciting adventures with our guys. Everyday is different and this is what makes it so amazing! We have a great team and fantastic people who attend our place. I like all things creative and baking yummy cakes. I love walking my dog, Hugo and cooking meals for my family and friends at the weekend. I am currently on Maternity Leave.

I have been working with Windward since I was 19 and now co-ordinate Spiral Blue. My favourite colour is pink and my favourite food is Italian. My satisfaction comes from seeing people grow into being the person they want to be. I love the holidays, dance and cooking and making it all as much fun as possible :)).

I have been working at Windward since 2016 and I look forward to see what each day brings as they're all very different. But one thing stays the same- the smiles on all the guys faces when they're enjoying the experiences and activities that are offered to them, which is a real privilege to see. Previously I was a special school assistant.

Hey I'm Jess, I work at Windward and Thrive. I started working here in 2016 and I love it- everyone is so friendly and welcoming. I love coming in everyday and it's great being a part of the guys' learning experience and seeing them achieve new skills. I have been in this line of work for 6 years and get so much from supporting people to gain independence and have fun. In my spare time I love travelling and exploring new places.

Hi, I'm Sophie. I have been supporting children and young people with learning disabilities since 2013 and I really enjoy it. It is such a rewarding job and makes me feel lovely that I can help others everyday. I am currently on Maternity Leave.

I work full time at Spiral Blue working alongside Kaleigh to help her teach the dance group and put on the big shows! I am a very arty person and also run a Makaton group within Windward Day Services. I love coming to work as everyday is different.

I Studied carpentry in college, then taught myself to woodcarve and make furniture. My previous job was care worker for the elderly in their own homes. I like working at Windward because it's very rewarding. My hobbies are woodturning, woodcarving, snooker and watching/playing football.

I volunteered to work at Tatchbury Mount in the day centre for people with a learning disability- I loved it so much I took the job, many years on I still work in the same field because I love it! In 2015 I moved to Windward day Service due to their inspiring staff and service users. I love my family and other animals! Cooking, eating and the great outdoors.

Working for Windward is simply the happiest place to be! I look forward to coming to work and seeing the clients and staff. I get so much out of teaching dance and aiming towards big shows. The clients bring out the best in me! I work 3 days at week at the moment following the birth of my son.

I have worked for Windward since 2010. I enjoy every day I work with our team, providing the best day we possibly can for everyone. I try my hand at most things, but probably I am better at doing things like sport, I lead a ski holiday to Austria every year, DIY and just being there to do whatever is needed.

Everyone is so happy and it is a privelege to join this dedicated, fun-loving team. Outside of work I enjoy being outdoors, especially walking my rescue dog 'Harry' in the countryside (It's even better when there's a pub en-route!!).

My name is Lee and I've been a Support Worker since 2009. I started working in residential care as I really enjoy meeting new people and helping them to learn new skills. I particularly like to assist in activities in a social setting, to empower individuals, help them to gain confidence and make new friends. I joined Windward as I really wanted to get back to the fundemental side of supporting individuals on a 1:1 basis to help access the various activities on offer.

Hi, I'm Matt. I have been working at Spiral Blue since August 2017 and I love it! I trained as a mechanic when I left school, but changed my career when I was 18. My hobbies include rugby during the winter- playing for Fordingbridge RFC and doing steam rallies during the summer with my family. I have 2 boys- Mason and Leo and my wonderful wife, Charlie.

Hi, I'm Anna.  I have worked for years supporting adults with Learning Disabilities in their own homes and have recently made the move to Windward Day Services. I love it here already, everyone is so friendly and the place has a relaxed and fun atmosphere. I think it's wonderful that the guys are so involved in choosing the activities they want to do and that their happiness is paramount.

My name is Anita and I live in Poole with my mum and two sons and a puppy called Buddy. I also have a daughter who has two little boys, who I adore and see often. I'm also a foster carer, and am currently in the process of becoming a shared carer for disabled children. I have loved my time volunteering at Spiral Blue and am very much looking forward to joining the bank team.

Hi my name's Paul, I have done many different jobs in my life from driving tanks in the British Army to working in a call centre, but nothing has felt quite as right as working in the care industry and helping others. I have a wonderful family- my wife Kirri and my 2 son's Sonnie and Jasper. I enjoy playing rugby and taking on personal challenges such as Tough Mudder.

Hello, my name is Antonin and I have recently joined Windward as a temp-bank support worker.
