Helix (Verwood)

Helix is a new and exciting prospect

Who are we and what do we do?

We are located in Verwood. We use our nearby community and meet up with friends in Ringwood, New Milton and Netley Marsh.

We aim to be a fully accessible service. Current services users include those who have a visual impairment, hearing impairment, wheelchair users and people with complex communication needs. We are all trained in the use of Makaton and positive behaviour management.

We run Social evenings, outings and holidays to further expand our range of social and independence- building opportunities.

Person centred approach- we will work with you and your parents or carers to best support you. We offer a key worker scheme as well as individual support plans to make sure we understand your needs. We are an independent service so can offer the flexibility to meet most peoples needs.

We welcome new challenges and ideas and are always keen to hear service users opinions.

We can support with…

Communication: We use Makaton, PECS and visual timetables to aid processing and self-expression.  again using our person centred approach we will support you with your communication.

Behaviour: All our staff are trained in positive behaviour management and are skilled at preventing and resolving conflict.

Personal Care: Your dignity is vitally important to us and is always handled sensitively. Our staff are able to assist and help you if you need support daily or occasionally.

Medication: We are fully trained in administering medication and are happy to help support you if you require medication in the day or in emergencies.
