Who are we and what do we do?
We support people to get involved with activities within the community and within our centre. We are very new and are aim to offer people the service they want and need. We are focused on young people becoming as independent as possible, and our approach is always driven by respect and having the highest expectations of those we provide a service for. We are working on cooking, travel and money skills with people who have asked for this. We also access sports sessions in the community and use community services available to all, such as the local gym. We also runs sessions based on the ASDAN training scheme.
We have sing signing sessions which offer people the opportunity to learn Makaton in a really interesting and modern way (all the songs are decided by the group). We also have a contemporary dance session, as well as reminiscence for older people. We welcome new challenges and ideas, and are always keen to hear service users opinions and views.
Our range of activities are varied so people are able to choose what they do each day they come to Thrive.
We run Social evenings, outings and holidays to further expand our range of social and independence- building opportunities. The holidays are offered to all our service users and we have our own ‘Windward Foundation’ which can help with the cost of these. We have been to exotic places such as- Butlins, France, Skiing and we plan to do lots more in the future.
Person centred approach- we will work with you and your parents or carers to best support you. We offer a key worker scheme as well as individual support plans to make sure we understand your needs. We are an independent service so can offer the flexibility to meet most peoples needs.
We also welcome new challenges and ideas and are always keen to hear service users opinions.
